Product Description
PCOS is the most common hormonal disorder affecting teenage girls and women of reproductive age group. Today, one in 10 women are diagnosed with PCOS. Due to the hormonal imbalance, the eggs are not released (unlike in a healthy cycle), and hence the ovary of a woman suffering from PCOS, may have an appearance of multiple cysts. It isn’t necessary that all women with PCOS will have a cystic ovary. This is one of the signs only. PCOS is attributed to many causes. Genetics might play a role but environment, lifestyle and diet play a major role and lead to manifestation of the signs and symptoms. The underlying root cause in most cases is Insulin resistance. PCOS signs and symptoms include absent or irregular periods, headaches, gain in weight, acne, loss of scalp hair, darkening of the skin, unwanted hair growth and infertility, mood swings, bloating, breast tenderness ,oily skin, etc.
PCOS can affect the person in many ways like sleep apnea, depression, metabolic syndrome, infertility and endometrial cancer. There are many females who suffer from PCOS but don’t know about it. As of now PCOS can’t be predicted by one diagnosis but if you have any of the two conditions then diagnosis is a must. These two conditions are:-
- Excess male hormones(androgens). In this high level of blood testosterone 8s seen with conditions like excess hair growth on face, stomach, or back
- Another condition is a problem with ovulation. In this, you may face irregular periods, heavy or no menstrual cycle, or infertility.
If you have both the conditions then PCOS profile test is must for you. The PCOS diagnosis test may include various tests like blood tests which are important to know your different hormone level like testosterone, estrogen, androgen etc. as per conventional approach for treatment of PCOS taking regular medications is a compulsion while on a personal basis you can take control over a few things. Like you can reduce or control your diet and weight, reducing carbohydrates intake can he helpful on the other hand as per functional medicine perspective there’s a lot that can be done to improve insulin sensitivity and reduce androgens levels naturally to help to restore normal hormonal function: The cornerstone of a PCOS regimen is a nutrition and exercise plan aimed at reducing insulin levels and restoring insulin sensitivity. So changing your lifestyle should be your principal goal. There are also a number of specific nutrients and herbs that can be included that help to balance blood sugar levels and keep insulin in check.
